Tornadoes have certainly been in the news lately. The two massive tornadoes that spun across Central Oklahoma in late May captured everyone's attention. If you think twisters like that only strike Tornado Alley in the Great Plains, think again. Ohio sees it share of storms like this.
Coming up Wednesday Evening at 8:30 pm, The Power of 5 Weather Team will present "The Power of 5: A Tornado Survival Guide." This 30 minute special will detail Ohio's tornado frequency. It will review some of our biggest, most recent outbreaks, and it even identifies our area's own mini-tornado alley!
We'll also explore how our local National Weather Service Office helped change the way tornado warnings are issued. What prompted the change? Well, lets just say, you'll be surprised how people respond to tornado sirens.
The special will not only cover the tornado threat across Northern Ohio, We'll also help you prepare for the next round of twisters. Would you know where to go if you were shopping when a tornado threatened? Or, in you car? We'll have the answers for you.
